this is a fun variation from a style i have been playing with for a couple of years. it maintains a softness while being very technical to make. i really like this little slit on the squares. from one angle it looks like two squinting eyes and from the other it looks like a cyclops. i really like this piece but it is difficult to capture in photos. it has a strong centering presence. there is a small chip that you can see in the last photo. i don’t think it takes away from the piece. carved from monkey pod.
