this is part of my portal series, from the spacey bust group, and also part of the littles collection. the form hints at a head or figure, but it's more of a vessel than a portrait. if you look at the hole, you'll notice a soft film across it. to me, it suggests the veil between the mundane and the abstract. these pieces are inspired by the miniature worlds kids create while they play. this piece was made to ground and center you, then transport you into the unknown from that place. carved from a single piece of rosewood.
