this is part of my portal series, from the spacey bust group, shaped through geometric language. the top hints at a head or figure, but it's more of a vessel than a portrait, while the geometric base gives it structure and grounding. if you look at the hole, you'll notice a soft film across it. to me, it suggests the veil between the mundane and the abstract. this piece was made to ground and center you, then transport you into the unknown from that place. carved from a single piece of rosewood.
