this is part of my portal series, from the spacey bust group, combined with the hard soft geometric language. the top hints at a small figure, more a presence than a portrait, while the geometric base gives it structure and grounding. the soft film across the opening suggests a quiet threshold between the seen and the unseen. though small, it carries an expansive feeling, made to bring you into stillness and open a way into the unknown. carved from a single piece of monkey pod wood.
